Death of an Inmate From La Macaza Institution

LAVAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Aug. 20, 2013) - On August 18, 2013, at approximately 9:05 p.m., Pascal Joël Thery, an inmate from La Macaza Institution, died of apparent natural causes at the Archambault Institution hospital.

At the time of his death, Mr. Thery, 49, was serving a sentence of five years and one month for Sexual Assault Causing Bodily Harm, Theft and Failure to Comply offences. His sentence had commenced on July 6, 2012.

Next of kin have been notified.

As in all cases where an individual dies while in custody, the police and coroner have been notified. In addition, the Correctional Service of Canada will review the circumstances surrounding the incident.
