Death of Inmate at the Federal Training Center


LAVAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Feb. 1, 2012) - On January 31, 2012, at 7:50 p.m., Jules Voiselle, an inmate from the Federal Training Center died of apparent natural causes at the Archambault Institution hospital in Sainte-Anne-des-Plaines.

At the time of his death, Mr. Voiselle, 70, was serving a life sentence for second degree murder, theft, possession of property obtained by crime and two counts of possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking. His sentence had commenced on March 13, 1973.

Next of kin have been notified.

As in all cases where an individual dies while in custody, the police and coroner have been notified. In addition, the Correctional Service of Canada will review the circumstances surrounding the incident.
