Death of Inmate at the Regional Psychiatric Centre in Saskatoon

SASKATOON, SASKATCHEWAN--(Marketwired - June 3, 2013) - On June 1, 2013, inmate Michael Edwin Anderson from the Regional Psychiatric Centre died of natural causes following a lengthy illness in the institutional hospital.

At the time of his death, Mr. Anderson, age 53, was serving a 6 year, 4 month sentence for Manslaughter. His sentence had commenced on November 30, 2012.

Next of kin have been notified.

As in all cases where an individual dies while in custody, the police and coroner have been notified. In addition, the Correctional Service of Canada will review the circumstances surrounding the incident.
