Debt Capital Markets Partner Cam Cowan Joins King & Spalding

WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwire - Aug 8, 2011) - Cameron L. Cowan, a top-ranked debt capital markets lawyer, joined King & Spalding as a partner in its capital transactions and real estate practice in Washington, D.C., the firm announced today.

Cowan counsels financial institutions, corporations and government agencies in complex financings in the United States, Europe and Asia and serves as a leading advisor on financial markets regulation. Chambers Global and Chambers USA both list Cowan among their highest-rated securitization lawyers, describing him as a "very personable and fantastically knowledgeable adviser" and as "a dominant force" and widely experienced pioneer in the field.

Cowan earned a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, an M.B.A. from Columbia University Graduate School of Business and a B.S., magna cum laude, from Syracuse University. He is a member of the board of directors and executive committee of the American Securitization Forum (ASF). He joined King & Spalding from Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, where he was a partner in its global finance group and oversaw the opening of its Washington, D.C., and three China offices.
