Big Data Opportunities, Measureable Impact of Analytics Work Help Fuel Continued Swift Growth

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - Aug 27, 2012) - Mu Sigma (, the largest pure-play provider of decision sciences and analytics solutions for global enterprise customers, announced today that it has been named to sixth annual Inc. 500|5000, an exclusive ranking of the nation's fastest-growing private companies. The list represents the most comprehensive look at the most important segment of the economy -- America's independent entrepreneurs. Companies such as Microsoft, Zappos, Intuit, Oracle and many other well-known names gained early exposure as members of the Inc. 5000.

"For more than 30 years, Inc. has celebrated the fastest-growing private companies in America. To be honored this year is a particularly notable achievement," said Eric Schurenberg, Editor-in-Chief, Inc. magazine. "To rank among the 2012 Inc. 5000, a company had to thrive through three of the toughest years this economy has seen in living memory."

Mu Sigma was named #907 on the list based on its 365 percent three-year revenue growth. The company's total revenue in 2011 was $63.2 million -- representing 53 percent growth over 2010. Mu Sigma was also named the 47th fastest-growing company in the Business Products and Services Sector, and the 33rd fastest-growing company in the Chicago area. The company created nearly 1000 jobs from 2009-2011.

In the era of Big Data, Mu Sigma has become known as the go-to source for Fortune 500 and other high-growth firms that need help analyzing data sets and extracting key nuggets of information that will help solve real business problems. Some of Mu Sigma's clients include Dell, ideeli and Microsoft. The company now employs more than 2000 analytics professionals, and its global delivery model provides clients with a team of on-site project managers and data scientists supported by a much larger staff working out of India.

Mu Sigma Founder and CEO Dhiraj Rajaram attributes the company's triple-digit growth to its unique business model and the value it provides. "Clients tell us that Mu Sigma's solution quickly pays for itself," said Rajaram. "In this economy, companies cannot afford to make investments without a measurable return. Analytics and decision sciences work can unlock value hidden away in data they already own, and it's easy to measure the impact. We're pleased that so many companies in a variety of industries are continuing to choose Mu Sigma as their analytics partner, and very proud to have made the Inc. 5000 for the third consecutive year."
