NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Aug 19, 2013) - Frank Pedersen has been named Managing Director of Deep Focus, the digital agency for the social age. The appointment is effective immediately, Deep Focus CEO Ian Schafer announced today.
Since leaving LBi in January 2012 Frank has acted as an independent executive advisor and trusted partner to global brands such as Orange, technology start- ups, non-profit organizations and marketing agencies including Saints New York, helping them to identify growth opportunities and capitalize on the emergence of new digital marketing platforms.

Pedersen's appointment follows Deep Focus' recruitment of other senior talent this year including Creative Director Ron Lent from BBDO.
At Deep Focus, Schafer said, Pedersen will be charged with the day-to-day operations of the agency, and execution of the agency's growth strategy as it continues to deliver award-winning integrated digital work for several of the world's leading brands.
At LBi, Pedersen was CEO of the global marketing and technology agency's US operations. In this role, he was responsible for the agency's US launch and growth strategy, the successful acquisition of social media agency Mr Youth, and expansion of the agency's digital full-service offering to include CRM, analytics and media planning.
Pedersen joined LBi IconNicholson in 2009 as Chief Operating Officer and led the agency's integration with Special Ops Media and Syrup to form LBi.
Prior to LBi, Pedersen served as Client Partner at AKQA in London, leading the agency's global retail practice and spearheading strategic and operational initiatives. He has held both executive and business development positions and led award winning work for Sky, Yell.com, Barclays, Macy's and Americans Elect which took home two Clio awards and the coveted People's Choice Award at SXSW last year.
He serves as an advisor to the boards of Sharewave and SalonPulse and also as an advisor to the CEO of NPower, a national non-profit that brings IT services to non-profits and training to young adults.
