Defi du beDON vide: Welcome Hall Mission Invites Montrealers to Give Up a Meal and Share it With a Homeless Person

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - June 14, 2016) - Today is Défi du beDON vide to support homeless people at Welcome Hall Mission. The organization, which helps Montrealers in need, invites everyone to give up a meal and share it with a homeless person by making a $10 donation. If only 5% of Montrealers were mobilized and stayed hungry until the next meal - as do thousands of people in need - it would be possible to feed all the homeless of the mission for an entire year! To participate in this campaign, donate at welcomehallmission.com or text MEAL to 20222.

More Than a Meal

"Our meal service is like a welcome program that allows us to connect with the homeless and open our doors to a multitude of services developed for them, says Cyril Morgan, CEO and Executive Director of Welcome Hall Mission. Together, we are working to find permanent solutions for their addictions and housing and employment problems in order to help them resume an active role in society. The more meals we serve, the more we can help those in need. "

Last year, Welcome Hall Mission served over 225,000 meals with its programs targeting men, youth and young mothers who are on the street. To accomplish this task, the organization relies on the generosity of the public and its many suppliers and producers who provide the food necessary for meal preparation.
