Dejour Continues to Build Board of Directors by Adding Dr. R. Marc Bustin

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Aug. 31, 2005) - Dejour Enterprises Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:DJE) -

Robert L. Hodgkinson, Chairman & CEO, is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. R. Marc Bustin, Professor of petroleum and coal geology in the Department of Earth Sciences at the University of British Columbia, President of RMB Earth Science Consultants and a Principal of CBM Solutions Ltd. to Dejour's Board of Directors. Dr. Bustin is moving from Dejour's Board of Advisors.

Mr. Hodgkinson states, "Dr. Bustin's 30 year's of practical and technical experience with North American hydrocarbon reservoirs provides Dejour with the expertise and knowledge that is imperative as we implement our strategy in this critical area of energy."

Dr. Bustin is a past recipient of the A.L. Leverson memorial award from the AAPG and received the Thiesson Medal from the International Committee for Coal Petrography in 2002 for his contributions to coal sciences/organic petrology. In 2003 he received the Sproule Award for contributions to the study of unconventional gas resources. He is an elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada.

Dr. Bustin received his PhD in geology in 1980 from the University of British Columbia and is a registered Professional Geoscientist in BC. He is or has been an associate editor of the Canadian Society of Petroleum Geology Bulletin, Sedimentary Geology, International Journal of Coal Geology and the Canadian Journal of Earth Sciences and is a member of the International Congress on the Carboniferous and Permian (ICCP), American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), The Society for Organic Petrology (TSOP) and Geological Society of America (GSA). He has published over 150 scientific articles on fossil fuels.

Dr. Bustins' professional experience includes:

- Mobil Oil Canada

- Gulf Canada Resources

- Elf-Aquitaine (France)

- CSIRO (France)

- CNRS (Australia)

- Consulted and functioned as a director and technical advisor for a variety of small through large petroleum companies in Europe, Africa, North America and Asia.

The company has granted stock option to Dr. Bustin to purchase 100,000 common shares in the capital of the company, subject to Exchange acceptance, are exercisable at a price of $0.60 per share, vesting over a three-year period.

The Company also announces the resignation of Charles Hodgkinson from the Board of Directors.
