DEKRA to Launch Free Automotive Light Check Campaign in Ontario, Helping Prepare Motorists for the Dark Winter Months Ahead

TORONTO, ON--(Marketwired - September 30, 2015) - Automotive services provider, DEKRA, are offering free light tests to Ontario motorists, aiming to make the roads safer in the darker months ahead.

Known for their focus on vehicle safety, DEKRA was founded in Germany in 1925, and now operates in over 50 countries globally. They have recently opened their first two one-stop vehicle safety stations in Toronto, under the leadership of Operations Manager, Jens Peter Schultze.

“It’s important to get cars prepared for winter driving, and that means more than just winter tires,” said Schultze. “In Europe, we have been running free light check campaigns every fall for decades, and I am looking forward to bringing this service to Ontarians, making the dark winter roads a safer place for all of us.”

The free test will be offered from October 15th to November 15th, and is currently limited to passenger vehicles. Contact information for DEKRA stations can be found by visiting

Founded in Germany in 1925, DEKRA has been keeping vehicles safe for over 90 years.

DEKRA’s test only stations provide a wide range of safety services to motorists, from emissions testing to pre-purchase car checks, and child seat installation.

At the corporate and policy level, DEKRA works with the automotive and related industries, as well as government agencies, to create safer cars for all of us.
