Deloitte Announces Acquisition of 'Major Player' in Managed Security Services Integrity-Paahi Solutions

Deloitte Adds Fourth Cyber Intelligence Centre in Canada to Meet Growing Demand for Cybersecurity Services

TORONTO, ON--(Marketwired - August 02, 2016) - Deloitte announced today that it has acquired Integrity-Paahi Solutions Inc. (IPS), a leading information services security provider based in Vancouver. IPS was recently recognized by International Data Corporation (IDC) as a 'major player' in the managed security services market in Canada.

The Vancouver IPS location will serve as Deloitte's fourth managed security operations centre, called a Cyber Intelligence Centre by Deloitte, and expands the reach of Deloitte's Cyber Intelligence Centre's in Calgary, Toronto and Montreal to offer support locally in Western Canada. Deloitte's Cyber Intelligence Centres cover more than 10,000 square feet of security operation centre space and are part of the firm's global network offering of 24/7 managed security services that help organizations secure their networks, and detect and respond to sophisticated cyber threats.

The IPS team, led by Karim Ladha, President and CEO; Santosh Nair, CTO, and Christopher Law, VP Operations will integrate into the Cyber Risk Services practice of Deloitte's Enterprise Risk service and will operate as IPS Deloitte. IPS Deloitte will establish a new practice of cyber technology product reselling and integration, making Deloitte a one-stop-shop for clients seeking both the software and insights required to protect their most critical digital assets. Deloitte is one of the only Canadian firms to provide this full lifecycle of security services helping organizations become more secure, vigilant and resilient.

"Joining forces with IPS provides us with instant scale in Western Canada and establishes a single place for our clients to access the full suite of solutions to solve their most complex cyber risk challenges. This is a key milestone in a series of strategic investments evolving our cyber risk practice, which has seen the team grow by 300 percent over the last two years," said Nick Galletto, Leader of Deloitte's Canadian and Americas Cyber Risk Services practice. "We're thrilled IPS is joining our team, enabling us to provide a more comprehensive set of services that will better serve our clients.

"We're proud of the services we've delivered to our clients over our 15-year history and to know that we are one of the leading cybersecurity teams in Canada. Recently, we felt that we were at a crossroads -- stay the course, or take the exciting opportunity to join Deloitte. We chose to join Deloitte; enabling us to grow and expand our offering across Canada, while continuing to deliver excellent service to our clients," said Karim Ladha, President and CEO, IPS.

Ladha added, "We're known for being nimble and quick to respond to the needs of our clients. This won't change as a result of joining forces with Deloitte. Deloitte recognizes the importance of our brand and culture. The partnership will allow us to continue fostering talent and as we grow together we will deliver enhanced services to our clients covering a much larger geography, with access to Deloitte's global network of security leaders and state-of-the-art technology."

"Cyber threats are becoming more common and more sophisticated, but few Canadian organizations have the in-house capabilities to secure, detect and respond to an attack. Bringing IPS on board expands Deloitte's ability to serve the growing needs of our current clients and those soon-to-be clients who recognize that it's not a matter of if, but when an attack will happen to them," said Partner and Leader of Deloitte's Corporate Development Office, Alexandre Baril. "Deloitte will be there when they seek the expertise of a globally connected security service provider with one of the largest Canadian footprints and a customized approach to threat management and response."

This deal marks the firm's eighteenth transaction in the last five years, demonstrating the importance of acquisitions and alliances to Deloitte's overall growth strategy. Deloitte's Corporate Development Office is committed to actively supporting merger, acquisition and alliance initiatives that align with the firm's commitment to client service excellence.
