The two sessions, "Deep Dive on SSD" and "A Practical Guide to Fibre Channel over Ethernet" (FCoE), will be presented June 9-10, 2010. The "Deep Dive on SSD" session is an in-depth look at the architectures and technologies of solid state storage devices. The presentation will describe solid state in detail, and compare solid state with traditional magnetic media. In addition, Dennis will include some of the results from his solid state storage performance testing of Microsoft applications in the Demartek lab.
"A Practical Guide to Fibre Channel over Ethernet" provides an overview of the new infrastructure components needed and an assessment of the enterprise readiness of the technology. Dennis will discuss where the technology is right now, what products are available, how it fits into an existing architecture and under what circumstances one should consider it.
