Fusion-io Chief Scientist Steve Wozniak to Take the DEMO Stage Along With Six Companies Defining the Enterprise Innovations of the Future

FRAMINGHAM, MA--(Marketwire - Nov 16, 2011) - DEMO, the world's leading launch conference platform for emerging technology and trends, today announced DEMO Enterprise: An Evening of Innovation, sponsored by DEMO alumnus Fusion-io, on January 5, 2012 at the Temple Night Club in San Francisco, CA. Fusion-io Chief Scientist Steve Wozniak will appear as a special guest at this invitation only event, which will showcase today's top innovations for the enterprise from six student-run startups. A DEMO Innovation party, open to DEMO alumni, the development community, media and venture capitalists, will conclude the evening.

"We're thrilled to bring added attention to the companies shaping today's enterprises, and, while doing so, to highlight six collegiate student-run companies that promise to be the innovations of the future," said DEMO executive producer Matt Marshall. "Collaborating with DEMO alumnus Fusion-io, a superb example of an industry-changing technology, to offer this opportunity for An Evening of Innovation enables the enterprise community to get an up-close look at the game-changing innovations of today and tomorrow."

The addition of this special DEMO Enterprise event to the DEMO family of conferences co-produced by IDG Enterprise and VentureBeat, which also includes DEMO Spring and Fall in the United States, DEMO Asia, DEMO China and DEMO Brazil, shines the spotlight directly on innovations specifically targeted at the enterprise market.

DEMO Enterprise will include an invitation-only launch event, which offers six student-run companies a chance to launch in front of members of the venture capital community, media and analysts, as well as a DEMO Innovation party, open to the DEMO community. The night's programming will feature Enterprise Sage discussions from some of the industry's top luminaries. Additionally, Fusion-io Chief Scientist Steve Wozniak will also be on hand to participate in a special demonstration that will be sure to make this an event to remember.

"Fusion-io made its original debut at DEMO in 2007 with an idea that many saw as either disruptive or folly. Several years later, it is clear the Fusion-io vision for the data center of the future was in fact quite disruptive, and Fusion-io's innovation would help transform an industry," said Rick C. White, Fusion-io co-founder and chief marketing officer. "With our success on the DEMO stage, Fusion-io is excited to give back to the DEMO community by sponsoring the inaugural DEMO Enterprise: An Evening of Innovation event and provide scholarships for the startups and research teams invited to share their visions of the future."

Applications are currently being accepted for student-run companies, with a product focused on the enterprise, to launch at DEMO Enterprise. All interested parties should submit initial company information here: The deadline for applications is December 3, 2011.
