DEMO Fall 2011 Conference: Day Two in Santa Clara Features Innovative Technologies, Expert Insights

Social Media, and Mobile Technology Companies Take the Stage on Day Two; DEMO Hosts More Conversations with Industry Success Stories, Plus StartUp America Partnership

SANTA CLARA, CA--(Marketwire - Sep 14, 2011) - Day two of the world-renowned DEMO Conference kicked off with the most provocative new innovations in the areas of social media and mobile technology -- and insightful expert conversations about the impact and convergence of these exciting technologies and applications. From over 1,000 qualified applicants, 70 demonstrator companies and ten College AlphaPitch companies have taken the stage in the past two days to showcase the next innovative technologies.

While Day One was dedicated to the latest in cloud computing, enterprise, and consumer technology companies, Day Two was focused on the latest in social and media and mobile technologies and applications. Following DEMO tradition, these innovative demonstrators presented leading technology products and applications in the famous six-minute, "fast pitch" format.

Day Two highlights also included additional interesting conversations with industry leaders and their respective success stories, insights, and lessons learned. DEMO executive producer Matt Marshall hosted a panel discussion with Scott Case, CEO of the innovative, federally funded StartUp America Partnership -- a government initiative to help spur the growth of small businesses. Jon Fortt of CNBC continued the technology conversation with Aaron Levie, founder and chief executive officer of Box, detailing the company's rise from a dorm room college business project to successful enterprise.

Other speaker highlights from Day Two included panels of top executives and expert "sages" from Accel Partners, Andreessen Horowitz, Intel Capital and Jive Software who discussed innovations in the social and media market; and Amobee, Google Ventures, Matrix Partners, RedPoint Ventures and Twitter offered insights into the constantly changing mobile technology market.

DEMO Fall 2011 marks the 21st year of this semi-annual event that brings together worldwide press, decision-making investors, and market-defining visionaries -- all of whom attend DEMO to discover the latest in technology innovation. The event embraces the full span of the technology product life cycle -- from concept to product launch -- giving both fledgling and established companies the opportunity to showcase technologies in a unique forum.

In addition to the elite demonstrator classes featured on both days, DEMO Fall 2011 also continued the showcase of its popular AlphaPitch program on Day Two, where early stage entrepreneurs and pre-launch mode companies are given 90 seconds to share their prototypes with the savvy and critical DEMO audience.

This year's DEMO Fall product debuts in the social and media and mobile space include everything from a social media application to keep up with favorite television shows to a site where women can talk about their dates without sharing information with people they know, to a platform that adds a game layer to video content to make videos more engaging and viral.
