DennyMike's Opens Wheat-Free, Nut-Free Production and Co-Packing Operation in Westbrook

DennyMike's Sauces and Seasonings Co-Packing Meets Regional Small-Business Needs

WESTBROOK, ME--(Marketwired - Aug 21, 2013) - Dennis Michael (DennyMike) Sherman, founder of DennyMike's (, the Maine-based, award-winning line of sauces and seasonings, announced today that the company has opened DennyMike's Sauces and Seasonings Co-Packing, a production and co-packing facility at 15 Eisenhower Drive in Westbrook. The facility, home to the production of DennyMike's, is offering co-packing services to small to mid-size producers of shelf stable, dry ingredient food producers requiring wheat- and nut-free production.

"There was a clear need in this region for a small batch co-packer with big producer standards of excellence, and we are filling that need," said Sherman. "Our oversight and attention to detail have earned our products more than 60 awards to date, and we promise we'll invest the same time and attention in our co-packing clients' products...we'd love to help them win awards of their own!"

The space includes a tumble blender, filler unit, bag sealer and shrink tunnel and is equipped to fill shelf stable (those not requiring refrigeration) dry ingredients of varying consistencies into packets, tins, bags, bottles and bulk containers. Sherman recently relocated his production from Dana Warp Mill on Bridge St. to the spacious, stand-alone, 10,000-square-foot facility to increase production and meet the rising demand for products sensitive to a wider range of dietary restrictions.

Small-batch producers are often stymied by the intricacies of production guidelines and safety standards for food items sold nationally and internationally, and Sherman's explains that his staff is equipped to offer dry food producers insights, recommendations, advice and coordination of services for everything from label and logo design to lab analysis and packaging. 

In addition, DennyMike's Sauces and Seasonings Co-Packing has created the certified Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HAACP) plans, required by the USDA and the FDA.
