Denver Zoo Offers Free Do At The Zoo Tickets in Signature Drink Naming Contest

Facebook Contest Winner to Win Two Free Tickets to the Event

DENVER, CO--(Marketwired - June 10, 2015) - Denver Zoo is holding a Facebook contest to name the signature drink of this year’s Do At The Zoo fundraiser, Presented by Anadarko Petroleum Corporation, on June 18. The winner will receive TWO, FREE tickets to the event. To enter, participants must “like” the Zoo’s Facebook page and submit one name in the comment section of the page’s contest post. Names can be based on the cocktail’s ingredients, what the drink looks like or even a favorite animal. The contest will run from Wednesday, June 10, until Sunday, June 14. Staff will read over all submissions and choose a winner on Monday, June 15.

The ingredients were provided by Republic National Distributing Co. and the recipe by restaurant group Crafted Concepts, the event’s VIP Party caterer.

- 1.5 oz. Svedka Grapefruit Jalapeno vodka

- 0.5 oz. Almond orgeat

- 0.5 oz. Lime juice

- 0.5 oz. Mint simple syrup

- Mint sprig garnish

Do At The Zoo kicks off on Thursday, June 18 at 6 p.m. for an early-entrance VIP party and at 7 p.m. for regular ticket holders. Join Denver’s wild party animals for the Zoo’s best gala ever, featuring more than 60 of Denver’s top restaurants serving their best menu items. Guests also will enjoy music, drinks, dancing and close-up animal encounters in the incomparable setting of Denver Zoo at twilight. Tickets for the event are on sale now at This event has sold out in the past. Denver Zoo will close at noon on June 18 to set up for the gala.

All proceeds from this year’s event support Denver Zoo’s education initiatives, which aim to ignite a passion for science in children through formal and informal programming. This includes on-site classes and camps, internships, school assemblies, volunteer programs, career panels and much more. The Zoo’s Education programs reach children as young as 2-years-old to adults. Denver Zoo also hosts its own master’s degree program in partnership with Miami University in Ohio.
