Department of Homeland Security Using CAST to Ensure Quality

Key Program for DHS and State Department Augments System Reliability

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - July 8, 2008) - CAST, the worldwide leader in Automated Application Intelligence, today announced that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has licensed the CAST Application Intelligence Platform (AIP) to enhance the management of software quality and reliability in the US-VISIT Program.

US-VISIT, a priority DHS initiative, is part of a continuum of security measures that begins overseas and continues through a visitor's arrival in and departure from the United States. It incorporates eligibility determinations made by both the Departments of Homeland Security and State.

"DHS joins other forward thinking Federal entities such as the FDA and SEC to systematically automate their software application code reviews," said Ian Henderson, CAST SVP of Worldwide Field Operations. "DHS can now monitor adherence to established best practices and enable their Smart Border Alliance delivery partners to proactively assess and remediate issues within agreed-upon acceptance windows. Continual, automated assessment and measurement of software quality is critical for a high profile program such as US-VISIT."

CAST continues to support the Federal government's ongoing drive towards enterprise application development governance. CAST's Federal clients include the U.S. Army, the Food and Drug Administration, the Federal Communications Commission, the Securities and Exchange Commission and the U.S. Air Force. CAST has successfully teamed with Boeing, CSC, Keane, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Raytheon, and Sybase Corporation in multiple Federal deployments.
