Dorothy Robyn to Discuss Customer's Role in Achieving Sustainability Goals


BURLINGTON, MA--(Marketwire - Apr 23, 2012) - Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Installations & Environment Dorothy Robyn will be a featured panelist at DNV KEMA Energy & Sustainability's fifth annual Utility of the Future Leadership Forum, "Pathway to excellence." Robyn will serve on a panel titled "Customers at the helm" at the DNV KEMA forum, May 14-16, 2012, at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Washington, DC.

Robyn provides management and oversight of military installations worldwide and manages environmental, safety, and occupational health programs for the Department. As a speaker at the 2011 Washington Energy Summit, Robyn stated that the Defense Department is prioritizing energy in many ways, including cost-effectiveness, security, and advancement. "We are committed to improving our energy performance for mission reasons, and we're taking energy into account in everything we do," said Robyn. In addressing customer needs and participation at the DNV KEMA conference, Robyn said that technologies demonstrated to be effective for the Department are "likely to work for the rest of the country."

The 2012 Utility of the Future Leadership Forum features one and one-half days of discussions about the dynamic changes facing the utility industry and the paths that innovators have taken toward a sustainable energy future.
