Dermacare Records Banner Year in 2006

Aesthetic Skin Care Franchisor Opens 19 New Clinics and Now Boasts 28 Locations in 14 States

SCOTTSDALE, AZ -- (MARKET WIRE) -- February 7, 2007 -- Dermacare Laser & Skin Care Clinics®, the only physician-based laser aesthetic skin care franchisor in the nation, opened 19 new clinics in 2006, bringing the total number of clinics in operation to 28 nationally. The company also secured contractual agreements for 22 other clinics, most of which will open in 2007. Gross sales for 2006 topped $14.2 million.

"This was a banner year for us," said Dermacare founder and CEO Carl Mudd. "We were busy with growth from California to New York, and now have a presence in 14 states. To date, Dermacare has a 100 percent franchise success rate, which is unparalleled in our industry. Our track record in 2006 demonstrates not only the widespread interest in laser aesthetic skin care treatments, but also further validates the Dermacare business model itself.

"Our sales are geared to medical professionals because of our emphasis on safety and clinical supervision," Mudd continued. "The physicians benefit because they want the marketing, operational and business expertise we provide. Dermacare lets them establish a cash-based business serving patients who seek out the mainstream laser, aesthetic and injectable treatments to which we are solely devoted. It is a low-stress way for the franchisees to practice medicine."

Dermacare clinics also appeal to physicians because of declining insurance reimbursements, rising malpractice insurance rates and the overall deteriorating quality of life in many medical specialties. Many Dermacare clinics go into the black far faster than the normal start-up business, franchised or not. Mudd attributes that to the growing popularity of aesthetic, laser-based skin care treatments, Dermacare's unique product and service mix, strong safety record and outstanding customer service. All clinics combined performed more than 150,000 procedures last year.

Dermacare clinics offer Cutera's unique 3D for Skin Rejuvenation, which includes FotoFacial™ for tone (reducing brown spots and sun damage), Laser Genesis to improve texture (shrink pore size and improve fine lines and wrinkles) and Titan™ (to firm up sagging skin and fine lines). Other services include BOTOX Cosmetics®, dermal fillers Restylane® and Radiesse™, laser hair and vein removal, laser wrinkle and acne scar reduction, microdermabrasion, BLU-U® acne light treatment and laser tattoo removal.

Dermacare franchises are located in Alabama, Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia. Each clinic has exclusive geographic operating rights, enabling physicians to invest in single or multiple locations.
