Des Moines Area Community College Advocates Choose Health With AMES MyFile

SOMERVILLE, MA--(Marketwire - August 30, 2007) - AMES, a national provider of solutions for the management of health information, will be presenting MyFile, a Web-based Personal Health Record/Health Risk Assessment (PHR/HRA), at Des Moines Area Community College's Health Fair on September 5, 2007. This innovative wellness technology has been incorporated into the college's Health and Public Service Programs, as well as their Recreation Center.

DMACC's Health and Public Service Programs will benefit students using MyFile, not only for the knowledge gained through taking charge of their own health needs and awareness, but also by applying new found insight to their job training.

Students experience many changes throughout their college years, and it is important for them to remember that they do have control over their own health and lifestyle choices. Promoting wellness programs using MyFile can result in a healthier student body, and more successful students.

Students will have a resource with an intuitive interface to keep their medical information (i.e. immunizations, illnesses, injuries, etc.) in a secure, easily accessible, Web-based format. MyFile's portability is perfect for those on-the-go, giving them the information they need, whenever they need it.

Additionally, the AMES MyFile System helps reduce healthcare costs by providing individual patient health risk assessments, supporting disease management and wellness programs, and improving chronic care plans. All health records can be accessed through one's MyFile Personal Health Record, while privacy and security are maintained in compliance with HIPPA requirements.
