Experienced Chef, Organizer Joins Marriott's Professional Staff

DESTIN, FL--(Marketwire - Apr 8, 2011) - John Sallman has been named Food & Beverage Supervisor of the Courtyard by Marriott at Grand Boulevard and Residence Inn, bringing established restaurant experience and success to lead the food and beverage teams at these fine Marriott hotel properties. Managed by Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort, one of the premier Destin, Florida golf resorts, the Courtyard Sandestin offers guests access to fine resort amenities and remarkable entertainment options.

Coming to Marriott after recently serving as Executive Chef at one of the most exciting and tantalizing seafood restaurants in Destin, Sallman's experience encompasses more than menu planning. In addition to a complete overview of the menu, its recipes, ingredients and trends, his experience in an upscale yet casual, high volume establishment, included restaurant renovation projects and the organization and execution of numerous high profile concerts at the restaurant's club venue. Sallman's well-rounded history as an Executive Chef also reflects service at Café Provence, a Classical French restaurant offering a unique fine dining experience.

Before moving to Destin and surrounding himself among stylish Destin golf resorts, Sallman was Sous Chef of the Boheme, a distinctive fine dining restaurant located within the Westin Grand Bohemian, a luxury boutique hotel in Orlando, Florida. During his time at the Boheme, he was recognized with a certificate of appreciation for being part of the team that brought an AAA Four Diamond rating to the restaurant and hotel property in its first year of operation. Sallman received a degree in Culinary Arts from Johnson & Wales University located in Miami, FL.

As part of the valued team of professional staff at these prominent Destin, FL beach hotels, Sallman will be directly responsible for maintaining exceptional food and beverage selections and unsurpassed service at the Courtyard Sandestin at Grand Boulevard.

Residing in Santa Rosa Beach with his wife and daughter, Sallman is stepping into community endeavors and is currently training as a volunteer fire fighter for Walton County.
