Deutsche Telekom Taps Moogsoft Incident Management in New 5G Innovation Lab

Deutsche Telekom launched the 5G innovation lab to lead further development and standardization of 5G mobile technology, and to provide a platform to engage with its customers throughout the stages of 5G development. Moogsoft is the sole systems monitoring vendor announced by the mobile operator within the lab's partnership ecosystem, which includes universities, startups, vendors, and customers.

5G promises a huge step forward in download speeds -- speeds up to 1 terabyte have been demonstrated, 100,000 times faster than burst rates achievable with 4G. With this incredible advance, mobile operators will also need to rethink their network support and tooling architectures to meet anticipated service demand, as well as overcome the challenge to discover threats to service availability much earlier. As 5G is tested further and new applications and standards are built around the technology, the current approaches to monitoring and incident management in use for 3G/4G won't scale to address a 5G-era environment.
