DeVito/Verdi Steals the Show With 'Best of the Best Among All Ads' Live-Vote Award at the 2010 RACie Award Show

Radio Ad for Pest Control Company Squashes the Competition; New York Ad Agency Checks-Out With Nine Wins for Print, Radio and Television Work on Behalf of Retail Clients

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - March 8, 2010) -  New York advertising agency, DeVito/Verdi, came out on top at the 2010 RACie Awards, walking away with nine honors, including the 'Best of the Best Among All Ads' award for Ehrlich, which was selected during a final, live-vote at the show among top retail marketing executives. 

Presented by the Retail Advertising and Marketing Association to honor the best advertising campaigns in the retail industry, the 'Best of Best Among All Ads' award was a great win, as the radio spot was competing against TV and all other forms of marketing-communications from Sears, Wal-Mart, Home Depot, JCPenny, Ralph Lauren and others major players.

The radio commercial titled, 'It's OK,' was a stand-out to judges for getting across its unexpected, humorous message about Ehrlich's reliable and immediate pest control services.

"A strong, simple idea that resonates will always win regardless of the magnitude of its competition or the size of their budgets," said Ellis Verdi, president of DeVito/Verdi.

DeVito/Verdi checked out with nine wins across six categories. The agency dominated the 'broadcast radio' category, as all four finalists were its clients. Ehrlich took gold, competing against two spots for National Thoroughbred Racing and one for Legal Sea Foods. In the 'print/single media campaign' category, DeVito/Verdi earned three bronze awards for Mt. Sinai, along with a bronze prize in the 'magazine' category. Abington Memorial Hospital also took bronze in the 'print/newspaper' segment; meanwhile, Ehrlich swept up two more trophies with a silver award in 'TV' and a bronze in 'print/newspaper.'
