DFO: Closed Area for Shellfish Harvesting North Shore

QUEBEC CITY, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - July 6, 2007) - Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Quebec Region, wants to inform the North Shore population that according to variation order 2007-Q-058, the harvesting of shellfish is now forbidden due to conservation reasons from July 4, 2007 to December 31, 2007, in the following shellfish area:

Cran a Gagnon (N-04.2.2)

From Cran a Gagnon to the southwestern point of Riviere Blanche's mouth.

Fisheries and Oceans Canada wants to remind the North Shore population that the following area is also closed for the harvesting of shellfish due to conservation reasons from January 1 to December 31 of each year:

Baie des Petites Bergeronnes (N-01.1.4)

From the west of the mouth of Riviere des Petites Bergeronnes to Pointe Sauvage, including the waters of Riviere des Petites Bergeronnes' estuary.
