DFO: Closed Areas for Shellfish Harvesting North Shore

QUEBEC CITY, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - April 30, 2009) - Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Quebec Region, wants to inform the North Shore population that the harvesting of shellfish is now forbidden due to pollution, in accordance with the prohibition orders mentioned below, and pursuant to subsection 3(1) of the Management of Contaminated Fisheries Regulations, in the following shellfish areas:



Prohibition Order No. QSN-414
Baie Didier Nord
The northern part of the Baie Didier, from a point on shore (near a creek),
west side, to a point on the east side, bounded by the limits of Fisheries
and Oceans Canada.

Prohibition Order No. QSN-415
Around Ile Laval - Inside Banc Marie-Marthe
Any area within 200 m of Ile Laval, bounded by the Fisheries and Oceans
markers. (inside Banc Marie-Marthe).
