DFO/Media Advisory: Canadian Coast Guard College Holds 40th Anniversary Celebrations

SYDNEY, NOVA SCOTIA--(CCNMatthews - Aug. 11, 2005) - The Canadian Coast Guard College will be celebrating its 40th anniversary this weekend. Current and former staff, students, graduates and their families, along with Coast Guard employees will be taking part in the festivities that include the official opening of the 40th anniversary festivities, the christening of the search and rescue training lifeboat, CCGC Cap Perce and dedication of the College library to former Commissioner of the Canadian Coast Guard, John Adams.

Geoff Regan, Minister of Fisheries and Oceans, who is responsible for the Canadian Coast Guard, will attend the festivities on Friday, August 12th.
