DFO/Media Advisory: Minister Regan Meets Norwegian Minister Svein Ludvigsen Regarding Overfishing and International Fisheries Governance August 10, 2005-Trondheim, Norway

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Aug. 9, 2005) - Geoff Regan, Minister of Fisheries and Oceans, is available to answer media questions regarding his bilateral discussions with Svein Ludvigsen, Norwegian Minister of Fisheries and Coastal Affairs. The bilateral meeting focuses on overfishing and the improvement of international fisheries governance regimes, including the Northwest Atlantic Fisheries Organization (NAFO), and international co-operation concerning improved management of high seas fisheries.

The bilateral also focuses on international aquaculture issues, and is part of Minister Regan's agenda this week as he participates in the Aqua Nor aquaculture trade show in Trondheim, Norway.
