RANCHO DOMINGUEZ, CA--(Marketwired - Dec 2, 2013) - Dependable Global Express, Inc. (DGX), a global ocean freight forwarder, announces today several adjustments to its management team to further strengthen its global service capabilities.
Within the continental United States, Raj Dias has joined DGX as Vice President of Global Business Development. Dias will primarily focus on South Asia including: India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, as well as intra-Asia Trade between South Asia and the rest of Asia. Strategically, Raj will be working with all of DGX's Country Managers in and around Asia and USA Trade Lane Managers to establish an Intra-Asia, South Asia to Europe, and Middle East to Africa trade. He will also develop a US Import/Export Trade to and from South Asia.
Dias has an extensive freight forwarding background. Prior to joining DGX, he served as Vice President - South Asia with Phoenix International. When Phoenix was purchased by CH Robinson, he became Vice President of South Asia Global Forwarding and led the integration team for the subsequent merging of the two companies. Dias was with EXEL PLC from 1991-2005, where he served in various capacities, including Trade Lane Manager Japan/India, General Manager Tokyo and Nagoya, Vice President Heartland Region in Cleveland Ohio, Vice President Midwest Region - Chicago, and Vice President Western Region - Los Angeles.
In New Zealand, DGX has hired Jean Paul Goedhart ("JP") as New Zealand Country Manager to replace Mikaela Williams who will be leaving that position to take another role within the Company. JP joins DGX with 14 years of experience in freight forwarding, in both his native Holland as well as 12 of those years in New Zealand. Brad Dechter, President indicated, "We are very excited about the talent JP brings to our DGX family. His experience working for international companies, especially working in roles where he ran the operations in New Zealand make him an ideal fit for our organization. This, combined with his strong sales background will ensure our continued success in New Zealand. We believe that J.P. will be a great replacement for Mikaela, and in-time will fill Mikaela's shoes and take as big steps forward in terms of both growth and profitability as Williams was able to."
In discussing the changes, Dechter noted, "These additions enable the company to continue on its quest to provide a one stop global service. The addition of Raj and JP to these strategic positions will bolster what I consider to be one of the best management teams in the business. We are fortunate to have the opportunity to work with each of them as we extend the scope and breadth of our global services."
DGX began International operations in 1999 and has been active in both import and export markets, with emphasis in the Pacific Rim and Latin America. DGX is a U.S. Customs Broker and a C-TPAT member.
