DHL Receives Corporate Film Award

New York Film Festival Awards DHL a Gold Medal and a Grand Award

NEW YORK, NY -- (MARKET WIRE) -- February 6, 2007 -- "Just in Time," the DHL corporate film, has been awarded a gold medal and the prestigious Grand Award at the New York Film Festival in the "International Film & Video Awards" competition in the category Corporate Image. The jury thus recognized the best public relations performance of the year.

The film, which last year won the German Corporate Film Award ("Deutscher Wirtschaftsfilmpreis"), impressed the jury primarily with its imaginative approach: The film combines an entertaining and emotional story with information about the company. Saving the world in eight days while incidentally organizing one's own wedding -- not a simple matter for secret agent John Graham Ashton. Only aided by a strong partner (such as DHL) can this mission be accomplished.

"Our goal was to make a modern corporate film featuring a gripping and diverting story that informs viewers about the services the company offers," explains Heike Schock, head of the public relations department. In order to ensure an especially fresh approach, the company took its project to film colleges. DHL finally chose the young and dynamic team led by the director Oliver Frohnauer from the Film Academy in Ludwigsburg, who collaborated in the making of the film with the production company teamWorx. "The James Bond-like film appealed to us immediately, because the film portrayed in an emotional and entertaining manner company attributes and values like internationalism, speed, reliability and team spirit," Schock says.

The New York Film Festival has been held for the last fifty years. The jury for the International Film & Video Awards consists of producers, directors and writers. This year films from over thirty countries all over the world were entered for the International Film & Video Awards. In addition to company films, short films and narrative films in the categories Image, Information, Education, and Industry were a part of the competition.
