DiabetesAmerica Welcomes Connie Chitwood-Vu, Director of Clinical Innovation and Chief Compliance Officer

HOUSTON, TX--(Marketwired - October 15, 2015) - Connie Chitwood-­Vu, MS, RD, LD, CDE, BC-­ADM joined the DiabetesAmerica team as Director of Clinical Innovation and Chief Compliance Officer. In this role, Chitwood-Vu will lead and be accountable for the Clinical Education and Compliance programs and implement and integrate clinical operating standards across all clinics and the DiabetesAmerica team of educators. In addition, she will focus on expanding and extending the reach, scope, content, mobility and monetization of the DiabetesAmerica education programs, which include tele­health, online services, an increased number of group visits and other new technological advances in diabetes care.

Connie is a clinical, management and sales professional with more than fifteen years of clinical and business experience in Type 1, Type 2 and Gestational Diabetes in both pediatric and adult populations. She holds a Master of Science degree in Nutrition and Combined Science from Texas A&M University and a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics/Nutrition and Combined Science from Stephen F. Austin University, as well as multiple professional certifications.

Connie has direct patient experience as a Certified Diabetes Educator, and industry experience in corporate training, customer call center training, development of internal and external electronic training programs and Phase II medical device clinical trials. She’s obtained ADA and AADE Diabetes Program recognitions, and has expertise in managing a clinical team and working across key departments of regulatory and product support, sales, clinical development, marketing and quality. As a Registered Dietitian who is Board Certified in Advanced Diabetes Management, Connie works at developing relationships with key opinion leaders across the Endocrinology and Diabetes industries, and she’s a frequent speaker and contributing author to various industry organizations and publications.
