DiabetesSeriesLive to Host Part Four of a CME Event on Stemming the Diabetes Epidemic

Nationally Recognized Endocrinologist, Mark Molitch, MD, to Present Live Online

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwired - September 03, 2015) - Endocrinologists, primary care physicians, and diabetes educators will have an opportunity to learn strategies for comprehensive diabetes care live via online video at no cost at DiabetesSeriesLive. The event will be held on September 17 at 12:00 PM ET at http://www.diabetesserieslive.com. This event is the fourth in a four-part series on stemming the diabetes epidemic. The activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University and Montefiore Medical Center and PlatformQ Health, Inc.

The program will feature Mark E. Molitch, MD, Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine; Susan Cornell, PharmD, CDE, Midwestern University; Davida F. Kruger, MSN, APN-BC, BC-ADM, Henry Ford Medical Group; Richard Beaser, MD, Harvard Medical School; and Javier Morales, MD, St. Francis Hospital. Topics in the hour-long program will include: key patient and physician barriers to treatment advancement that incorporates injection therapy, strategies to overcome barriers to treatment advancement in patients with T2DM, and strategies for culturally competent care that provides education to improve patient's risk recognition and motivation to engage in positive health self-management behaviors. This activity is supported by an educational grant from Novo Nordisk Inc.

"It is important for clinicians to realize that type 2 diabetes, the type of diabetes affecting over 90% of those with diabetes, is not a static disease, it is a progressive one. Thus, the treatment regimens will need to be continually monitored and changed appropriately as time goes on for a given patient. Programs like this allow clinicians to keep up with the latest treatment modalities and how best to implement them in daily practice," said Dr. Molitch.

DiabetesSeriesLive offers an effective way to easily stay current on advances in diabetic patient care without leaving their office. There is no cost to register and watch any educational session at DiabetesSeriesLive. Clinicians who attend live may take advantage of interactive capabilities like submitting questions to be addressed live online by presenting faculty and interactive polling.
