Diagnostics Industry Authorities Deliberate on LDT Regulatory Reform and PAMA at the Seventh Annual Next Generation Dx Summit

A Plenary Session at the 2015 Next Generation Dx Summit in Washington, DC Will Connect Diagnostics Professionals From Across the Industry for Guidance on Two Significant Changes in IVD Approval and Reimbursement

NEEDHAM, MA--(Marketwired - May 13, 2015) - Cambridge Healthtech Institute is pleased to announce the theme for discussion of the 2015 Next Generation Dx Summit to be held August 18-20 at the Capital Hilton Hotel in Washington, DC. Led by the Association for Molecular Pathology (AMP) and industry thought leaders, the plenary session will address modifications to FDA's LDT regulation and the new updates for reimbursement of clinical diagnostic laboratory tests through PAMA, the Protecting Access to Medicare Act of 2014. Through panel debate and audience participation, the session will respond to the direct impact these reforms will have on innovation in the industry.

"The growing availability of advanced diagnostics and the demand for access to personalized medicine is having a dramatic impact on the practice of medicine," states Christina Lingham, Cambridge Healthtech Institute's Conference Executive Director. "At Next Generation Dx Summit, stakeholders from all areas of the industry come together to navigate the hurdles, such as rising healthcare costs and ever-changing regulation, to take advantage of these new opportunities and build towards the common goal of precision medicine."

Eleven focused conference tracks will complement the plenary session and encourage the diagnostics community to delve into new areas of investment in the industry, such as single assays for infectious disease diagnostics, biomarkers for cancer immunotherapy, cell-free DNA for clinical applications, NGS for cancer diagnosis, and opportunities for point-of-care diagnostics within pharmacy settings. More than 130 presentations and 30 roundtable breakout discussions are scheduled to take place at the 2015 summit.

Full program details can be found at http://www.nextgenerationdx.com. Early registration rates apply and are available until June 5.
