Diamant Announces Commencement of Market Research for Intergradation Into the Bottling Industry of Its Bio-Additive, as Connecticut Considers the Integration of Plastic Bottles Into the Current Mandatory Recycling Law

TORONTO--(Marketwire - April 24, 2008) - Diamant (OTCBB: DIAAF) is pleased to announce that as the new biodegrading additive nears the completion of their initial trials, Diamant will commence market research for Intergradation of it's bio-additive for Nationwide distribution of this innovative new industry solution.

It's in Diamant's strategy to apply for FDA approval to begin after the final trials in the near future. The additive has been successfully tested in Europe and determined that it will render plastic polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles biodegradable.

For years, Connecticut legislators have discussed including all variations of plastic bottles in the state's bill. Currently, as an initial step, State Bill 357, would add plastic water bottles to the current list of mandatory recyclables. It's been stated that the landfill space in Connecticut is growing scarce, and with a statewide success rate of 70 percent for deposit recycling, it's a sensible solution. According to the Container Recycling Institute, 425 million water bottles were sold in Connecticut in 2005. With a state population of 3.5 million people, that's roughly 120 water bottles per person.

This revolutionary bottling additive is a proprietary material that will be blended into polyethylene terephthalate (PET), the plastic used in water bottle manufacturing. PET has the capability of giving an exceptional glass-like clarity and gloss and will now be able to become bio-degradable. PET bio-degradable bottles and containers can now be used to package a range of shelf-stable products, including salsas, pasta and barbecue sauces, tomato ketchups, similar steak and table hot sauces, jams, jellies, juices, and bottled beverages such as sodas and water.
