Diamond Drilling to Commence on Pacific Bay's Craze Creek Gold Property

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Oct. 25, 2005) - Mr. Guilford Brett, President, Consolidated Pacific Bay Minerals Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:CBP) (the "Company") is pleased to announce that diamond drilling is planned on the company's 100% owned Craze Creek property located in the Cariboo Gold Belt in central British Columbia. The Craze Creek property is currently under option to Golden Cariboo Resources Ltd. whereby Golden Cariboo can acquire up to 60% of the Company's Craze Creek Gold property by spending $150,000 in exploration over three years. The Craze Creek will be part of a $1,000,000 work program outlined by Golden Cariboo for the Cariboo gold district.

The Company and prior operators in previous programs have found significant gold within several zones on the property. Indications of the potential of the area come from results of Pacific Bay drilling on the "B" zone, where a northwesterly trending structure yielded an intersection of 21.1 g/t gold (0.678 oz/t) over 1.9 meters (6.23 feet).

Golden Cariboo is concentrating its efforts on Bonanza Ledge style gold-bearing pyrite mineralization hosted in carbonaceous phyllites, argillites and pelites. Pacific Bay has always maintained that the Bonanza Ledge stratigraphy exists on the Craze Creek property, and this has apparently been confirmed by Golden Cariboo geologists who have established several drill targets in the previously untested, geochemically anomalous Trehouse Creek area along with proposed drill holes to extend the known zones.
