Dianne Buckner, Host of CBC's Dragons' Den, to MC the 2015 Cantech Investment Conference

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - Dec. 22, 2014) - Noted broadcaster and journalist Dianne Buckner will be the Master of Ceremonies for the 2015 Cantech Investment Conference, which will take place January 15th at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.

While best known to Canadians as the host of Dragons' Den, others may remember Dianne from the ten years she spent hosting Venture, the popular CBC television program that chronicled the adventures of entrepreneurs.

During her 20 years as a business journalist, Dianne has been a host, a reporter, an anchor, a writer, an executive producer, AND a creator of shows, working at both CBC and CTV. She's travelled to Japan, the Netherlands, Australia, Iceland and the US, as well as from coast to coast in Canada, covering stories that matter to Canadians.

Dianne was part of the start-up team for Dragons' Den in 2006, participating in the search for Dragons as well as the auditioning of entrepreneurs willing to pitch.

When she's not in The Den, Dianne is a correspondent for CBC News, where she covers big stories in the business world. You can sometimes hear her anchoring The World At Six on CBC Radio, or seeing her filling in as host on The Exchange with Amanda Lang.

"I am very pleased to welcome Dianne as Master of Ceremonies for Cantech 15," said Nick Waddell, Founding Editor of Cantech Letter. "Dianne's name has become practically synonymous with entrepreneurship in Canada. I have admired her work going back to her days hosting "Venture". I think Canada's largest technology investment conference will benefit greatly from her involvement."

The Cantech Investment Conference is sponsored by the Toronto Stock Exchange, Difference Capital, PI Financial, and Paradigm Capital.
