About Operation Medicine Cabinet

In an effort to prevent abuse of prescription medications and protect the environment, the Substance Abuse Coalition of Collier County, a not-for-profit organization formed to provide a drug-free community for our youth has created a program called "Operation Medicine Cabinet." Operation Medicine Cabinet is a countywide initiative that encourages citizens to bring their unused and/or expired prescriptions to designated community parks and community centers to safely dispose of them. Failure to dispose of expired or unused prescription drugs may result in their falling into the wrong hands. Flushing or throwing medications in the trash is improper and is harmful to humans and pets and can cause contamination to Florida's aquatic environment.
