Digital Dispatch Strengthens Presence in Roadside Assistance

RICHMOND, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Aug. 16, 2005) - Digital Dispatch Systems Inc. (TSX:DD) today announced a new contract with the American Automobile Association (AAA) Auto Club South of St. Petersburg, Florida, for over 300 iPilot 8000 mobile computers and peripherals, including onboard applications.

"This is a landmark agreement for us," said Geoffrey Goldsmith-Jones, Director of Business Development for Digital Dispatch, "and a big boost to our market diversification strategy. AAA has over 35,000 roadside assistance vehicles nationwide through various member auto clubs, and Auto South is one of the biggest member clubs. This will be the largest deployment to date of iPilot 8000 mobile computers with AAA's D2000 application, and it will also be the first AAA deployment that will use our iPilot 8000 to communicate over the Verizon Wireless CDMA network."

Bryan Mlika, Manager, Quality Assurance, Automotive Services for AAA Auto Club South added: "The iPilot 8000 running AAA National's client application is a great compliment to our D2000 host application. This combination enables us to synchronize our customized D2000 codes, the navigation application, tow manual, and also pick the best data carrier for our service area. In addition, this gives us the ability to incorporate peripherals for inventory, credit card payment, printing receipts, and many other applications."

"We are a preferred supplier for AAA," said Mr. Goldsmith-Jones. "Our ability to provide a flexible product like the iPilot 8000 suits the unique needs of auto clubs of all sizes, and we aim to continue to make this product more diverse and flexible in anticipation of future roadside assistance needs."

Digital Dispatch also announced today that an existing client in Southern California has placed orders for additional equipment. In total, the AAA contract and the additional orders represent new work valued at over $1 million.
