Digital Entertainment Ventures Announces Four More Companies Chosen for DEV Korea Discovery Fund Investment

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - November 12, 2014) - Digital Entertainment Ventures (DEV), an early stage venture capital and advisory firm, and its Seoul-based partner, DEV Korea, have selected four additional companies for investment through its DEV Korea Discovery Fund and accelerator program. The first group, which was announced last month, included Contents First, Richslide, Mushroom, Soundmate, Pinstory, and Goonies.

  1. moonROK is the world's premier source of K-pop news and entertainment. By partnering with Korean media outlets, moonROK receives Korea's music news before anyone else, translates it, and publishes it in the English language for fans all over the world to read. moonROK also produces exclusive content in the form of interviews, concert coverage, and reviews.
  1. Botem creates state-of-the-art human recognition sensor devices that determine people's movement direction. The Botem Smart Switch can count the number of people in a room by collecting data on people moving in and out. Applications include building management, disaster prevention, and security systems. Botem is the largest automatic occupancy sensor in South Korea and owns eight international patents.
  1. MtoV provides a driving image-sharing service called Link-V, which is a crowd-sourced dashcam application that gathers and shares images taken from user vehicles. Conventional dashcams cannot capture car accident scenes due to limited angles. MtoV's key members have deep technical backgrounds in wireless networks, information security, and image processing.
  1. Sogware is a game development company for both online PC and mobile games with expertise in server load testing tools and AI development. Its proprietary technology offers the stability of game servers validated from a large amount of human-like virtual users and allows games to change behaviors according to users' play. Sogware has launched one mobile game and has several PC and mobile games under development.
