DIOS 33 Carats Gold & Diamond Project: A Gold Tonalite Target Delineated & Map Published; Drilling Planned for Diamond Potential

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Jan. 13, 2011) - DIOS EXPLORATION is very pleased to report the delineation of a GOLD TONALITE TARGET (gold porphyry potential) hosted within a nosefold of volcanic rocks on its wholly-owned 33 CARATS diamond-gold project, which project is located adjacent to the Eastmain Resources Eastmain gold mine deposit and the Stornoway Renard advanced diamond project, Otish region, Quebec. DIOS recently increased its land position in the Southern Blocks of this 33 CARATS project by map-staking 69 new mining cells (up to 230 cdc or 120 square kilometers). The whole 33 CARATS diamond-gold project totals 877 cdc for 460 square kilometers in the Upper Eastmain river area.

The southern part of the 33 CARATS property is also overlying part of the Eastmain greenstone volcanic belt, hosting the Eastmain gold mine (in operation in the nineties). Advanced glacial studies completed by DIOS over the years outlined a 15-20 km x 3-5 km well-structured gold north-east anomalous dispersal train. The glacial gold train is composed of 80 till samples including 13 samples (16%) over 0.25 grams gold per ton and 4 samples over 0.50 grams gold per ton including 0.519, 0.583, 1.165, 2.090 grams gold per ton (all from heavy mineral concentrates). The head source of this gold dispersal train is pointing out towards the volcanic belt wrapping around a tonalitic complex on DIOS ground. It shows a lot of similarities with the gold dispersal train recently discovered by DIOS on its wholly-owned U33 project located a few hundreds kilometres more to the west in the lower Eastmain River Area. DIOS is looking forward to develop the 33 CARATS GOLD PROJECT alone or through partnership. See map:

Last summer, the 33 CARATS DIAMOND EXPLORATION PROGRAM consisted in the surface prospecting of some 95 geophysical targets for diamondiferous kimberlite outlined by an independent geophysicist from processing several detailed geophysical surveys, following results from indicator mineral sampling campaigns over the years. These targets were mainly located on the new blocks designated last winter that are adjacent (10-20 km) to Stornoway Renard diamond deposit property. On each target, the immediate vicinity (100-200 m diameter) of the center of the anomaly was prospected for outcrops, as well as the down-ice area (500-1000 m) for possible glacial floats. Twelve (12) of the checked anomalies were explained by the occurrence of magnetic granite outcrops and therefore eliminated as potential drill targets. A selection among the best remaining targets should be eventually drilled later this year.
