Direct Indictment Filed in Terrorism Case

BRAMPTON, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Dec. 14, 2011) - The Public Prosecution Service of Canada today announced the filing of a direct indictment against Mohamed Hassan Hersi, 25, who is charged with attempting to knowingly participate in any activity of a terrorist group and counselling a person to participate in a terrorist group, contrary to section 83.18 of the Criminal Code.

Mohamed Hersi was arrested on March 29, 2011 following an RCMP investigation. He was released on bail April 29, 2011.
