Direct Marketing News Names Covario Managing Director Mike Gullaksen a 2012 "40 under 40" Winner

Gullaksen Recognized as One of the "Young Stars" in the Magazine's First Annual Awards

NEW YORK, NY and SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwire - Nov 1, 2012) - Mike Gullaksen, managing director and senior vice president of Covario, Inc., the leading independent search marketing agency, was selected by the editors of Direct Marketing News as one of the recipients of its first annual 2012 "40 under 40" awards.

Gullaksen was recognized as part of a group of "young stars" from across the marketing industry that the magazine said "has already left an indelible mark within their organization and on the industry as a whole."

According to Ginger Conlon, editor-in-chief of Direct Marketing News, the magazine's first annual 40 Under 40 awards "honor the brightest and most ambitious talented professionals in the direct and digital marketing field."

In his role as managing director at Covario, Gullaksen leads the search marketing agency's global delivery teams, which provide innovative search engine optimization (SEO), paid search, social media, and content marketing strategies both to national ecommerce retailers and to global brand marketers.

Gullaksen has more than 12 years of SEO, paid search, social media and analytics experience. He has spearheaded successful search marketing campaigns for an array of clients in different industries that market products and services to both consumers and business customers.

Since joining Covario in 2009, Gullaksen helped the firm increase its worldwide revenues by 51 percent in the first year alone. Most recently, he has played a key role leading Covario to become one of the largest independent search marketing agencies globally.

Due in large measure to his efforts, Covario was recognized by OMMA (Online Media, Marketing and Advertising) Magazine as the 2011 Search Agency of the Year.
