Director of Helix BioPharma Corp. Acquires a Further 1,000,000 Common Shares

AURORA, ON--(Marketwired - Jan 10, 2014) - Helix BioPharma Corp. (TSX: HBP) (FRANKFURT: HBP), a biopharmaceutical company dedicated to developing drugs for prevention and treatment of cancer, today announced that it has been advised by Dr. Marek Orlowski, a member of the board of directors of Helix and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Helix Polska, that he has purchased 1,000,000 previously issued and outstanding shares of Helix for a total purchase price of approximately CAD$1.72 million since December 30, 2013.

Dr. Orlowski now holds an aggregate of 1,710,000 shares of Helix.
