Disaster Recovery Solution Sold to Sky Angel TV

WEGENER to Provide Media Server Equipment to Sky Angel TV for Disaster-Recovery at a Remote Server Site

JOHNS CREEK, GA--(Marketwire - Aug 8, 2012) - Wegener Corporation (OTCQB: WGNR) (PINKSHEETS: WGNR), a leading provider of equipment for television, audio and data distribution networks worldwide, today announced the sale of iPump® 6400 professional media servers to Sky Angel® TV for use as disaster-recovery video servers.

Sky Angel is a Christian-owned multi-channel distribution service providing inspirational and family-friendly television and radio programming. Founded in 1981 by Robert Johnson Sr., Sky Angel provides subscription services over different media platforms to support a worldwide audience. Sky Angel provides three original Christian satellite networks a US-based direct-to-home video service via satellite. The three satellite networks are Angel One, Angel Two and KTV -- Kids and Teens Television.

Sky Angel intends to use WEGENER iPump 6400 professional media servers at a remote server site to enhance disaster recovery for its three networks. The iPumps will store legacy programming which can be used if Sky Angel's incoming broadcasts are ever interrupted. The WEGENER iPump 6400s will be configured with ASI input, 1TB of media storage for video, audio and closed captioning data, and a SDI output.
