Discovery Channel's 'American Hot Rod' Welcomes Home USS Nimitz

Boyd Coddington and Crew Host 'Hot Rod' and Car Show to Support Returning Troops

SAN DIEGO, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- November 7, 2005 -- Ships and aircraft from Carrier Strike Group 11 and the Nimitz Strike Group to return to Naval Air Station North Island and Naval Station in San Diego Tuesday, November 8 after serving in the Arabian Gulf. Boyd Coddington and the rest of his team of the hit television series, "American Hot Rod," will be on hand to support and welcome the ship's crew home with a hot rod and custom car show, including the Bud Light Roadster that was featured on the show earlier this year.

Boyd and Jo, his wife, are long supporters of our U.S. troops serving our country and have made several appearances to bring some joy into their lives. In June 2005, the "Ghetto Princess," accompanied by a one-off motorcycle, was unveiled at Camp Pendleton for Marines heading to Iraq.

Budweiser has kindly donated several hundred custom posters featuring the Bud Light Roadster for the crew. Other companies, such MagnaFlow Performance Edxhaust, O'Reilly Auto Parts, and of course, Boyd Coddington Hot Rods & Collectibles will giveaway hundreds of hats, T-shirts and other autographed items to the crew to show their support.

Fans of "American Hot Rod" will be able to get a behind-the-scenes view of all the excitement as the Discovery crew films the entire show. "American Hot Rod," airing on Discovery Channel (Mondays 8:00 pm E/P), draws millions of fans each week to watch legendary hot rodder Boyd Coddington and his staff as they conceptualize, design, build and unveil a continuing lineup of cutting-edge hot rods.
