Discovery Ventures Signs Drilling Contract With Major Drilling Group International Inc. to Drill at La Sarita, Mexico

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Sept. 19, 2011) - Discovery Ventures Inc. ("Discovery") (TSX VENTURE:DVN) wishes to report that it has signed a drilling contract with Major Drilling Group International Inc. Major Drilling International Inc., has reported that diamond drilling of the La Sarita Project will commence this week. Major Drilling Group International Inc. is one of the world's largest drilling service companies primarily serving the mining industry. To support there customers' varied exploration drilling requirements, they maintain field operations and offices in Canada, the United States, South and Central America, Australia, Asia and Africa. Major Drilling provides all types of drilling services including surface and underground coring, directional, reverse circulation, multi-purpose, grade control, sonic, geotechnical, environmental, water-well, coal-bed methane and shallow gas.

As reported in the September 9th, 2011 News Release, Dr. Ron H. McMillan's P.Eng. recent visit to the property concluded that additional mapping and soil sampling should be undertaken to optimize the upcoming drill program. As well as to test the strong IP and magnetic anomalies in the northeast portion of the grid as no information is available on these strong anomalies at this time.

Field crews have now finished geological mapping and grid soil sampling work on the La Sarita project in Sonora Mexico. This phase of the work included a 3D IP (induced polarization) survey to define sub surface geological structures, (completed) surface and underground sampling, and diamond drilling. The La Sarita project contains copper/silver mineralization over a recorded strike length of at least 2.4 km with indications of depth of 100 to 500 meters. Currently the company is continuing detailed sampling throughout the property in order to identify additional high priority drill targets.

The La Sarita property encompasses a number of historic small-scale artisanal type mining operations dating back to the late 1800s with both underground and surface workings. Sonora Mexico is home to the Cananea and the La Caridad mines two large scale copper mines. The Cananea (90 miles north west of the La Sarita) is one of the largest open pit mines in the world and having opened in 1899 one of the oldest in North America. La Caridad includes a copper mine and concentrator, as well as a smelter, refinery and rod plant and is located 35 miles north of La Sarita.
