Disqus Module for DotNetNuke Released

New Release Deepens Module Integration; Offers Expanded Functionalities

SAN MATEO, CA--(Marketwire - Oct 11, 2011) - DotNetNuke Corp. today announced the immediate availability of an updated integration to Disqus, an online comments platform that helps organizations build an active community from their website audiences. Available from the Extensions Forge as a free module, the Disqus Module for DotNetNuke seamlessly integrates the Disqus comments engine into the DotNetNuke platform, which adds a powerful social capability to mission-critical websites.

The module wrapper for the Disqus comment engine allows users to add comments to any page, and attach the comments directly to any module on the page. Using the Disqus module, users can instantly enable the most interactive comment engine on the market.

"Setting up a comments capability for a professional site is now fast and simple," said Mitch Bishop, CMO at DotNetNuke. "The Disqus module is one more way that DotNetNuke customers can create an engaging online presence."

DotNetNuke users can not only display the comment engine to read and contribute comments, but can use a variety of Disqus widgets to perform functions like display all recent comments from across the user's site, and display a listing of the most popular threads across the website. A 'top commenters' feature gives credit to those visitors who participate most actively on the website, while the combination feature combines all three widgets into a single, tabular view.

The Disqus Module for DotNetNuke also includes the ability to create and specify a cross domain receiver file for Disqus to use, which streamlines and simplifies the implementation process. This feature reduces the number of times that a page will need to be reloaded. Users need only copy the URL from the Disqus Module settings, and paste it into the site settings in their Disqus account.

The Disqus Module for DotNetNuke is available for immediate download at the Extensions Forge, the official repository of open source extensions for the DotNetNuke Community.
