Distinction Group Inc. ("GDI" or the "Company") (TSX:GD) announced its results today for the first quarter ended February 28, 2009. The financial statements and management discussion and analysis are available on SEDAR at www.sedar.com.

Revenues rose 140% to $60.4 million in the first quarter ended February 28, 2009, from $25.2 million in 2008. This increase resulted primarily from the acquisition of Omni Facility Services Canada Limited and Service d'entretien Empro Inc. in June 2008, which contributed $32.6 million to total revenues for the quarter.

EBITDA grew by 108% to $3.1 million in the first quarter of 2009 from $1.5 million in 2008, mainly due to an added contribution of $1.3 million from the acquired companies.

As a result, GDI increased its net income by 79% in the first quarter of 2009 to $1.5 million or $0.048 per share, fully diluted, from $0.8 million or $0.025 per share, fully diluted, in 2008.

"We are very proud of the results achieved in this first quarter despite the current economic climate," said Claude Bigras, President and Chief Executive Officer of GDI. "That being said, we will continue to work hard in the coming quarters to increase shareholder value while remaining on the lookout for new business opportunities."

GDI enjoys a solid financial position, with working capital of $14.8 million and credit facilities varying from $30 to $40 million, of which about $20 million was used as at February 28, 2009.

Outlook

"Our main objective in the coming quarters will be to optimize the profitability of our operations," added Mr. Bigras. "We will therefore continue to diligently manage our credit risk related to accounts receivable and to pursue the integration of the various companies in the group to benefit from maximum synergies."
