Distributed Data Safer Than Centralized "Cloud" Data

Distributed Data Is a Far Safer Data Storage Model for the Individual Than Centralized Data According to SmartMetric, the Creator of the World's Smallest Biometric Fingerprint Readers

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Aug 15, 2013) - SmartMetric, Inc. (OTCQB: SMME) -- Speaking today from NEW YORK, SmartMetric™ Inc. President & CEO Chaya Hendrick said the company is focused on releasing new product centered on the individual ownership and control of their own data while having this data protected by the SmartMetric Inc. created miniature biometrics reader and authentication system.

Centralized data such as "Cloud" storage is fundamentally less safe than distributed data. If you have a million records on a central computer a hacker only needs to get it right one time to get his hands on the million records of data. If however the same data records were distributed across a million individuals then the would-be hacker would need to successfully hack a million times to collect the same amount of data. This is the inherent weakness and security flaw in the "Cloud" computing model, she said.

The SmartMetric™ approach is to have a de-centralized data storage approach that has the individual hold their own data on a new type of device that is protected using the SmartMetric miniature biometric fingerprint scanner. The Company will release further information about this new data storage product in the coming weeks along with its scheduled sales release by the end of this year.

A number of motions in the SmartMetric Inc. lawsuit for patent infringement against both Visa and MasterCard are being heard before the District Court Judge, the Honorable Mr. Fitzgerald on August the 27th. The company is pleased to see that matters are moving forward.

On August the 26th SmartMetric Inc. is publicly releasing for sale its new Electronic Health Records (EHR) product that is protected by the company's "world's smallest" biometric fingerprint reader and authorization system, called the MedicalKeyring™.
