Dittberner's Report on Real-Time Interconnect Server Profiles pulse Customer Cases

TORONTO--(Marketwire - February 17, 2009) - Dittberner Associates, a market research and consulting firm specializing in telecom, has released an assessment of the "real-time interconnect server," a new class of solution for on-demand, cost-adaptive traffic routing. pulse, a leading provider of intelligent communications solutions for the wireless, wireline, NGN and IMS networks, has had two of its customer installations profiled in the report.

The analyst team at Dittberner Associates has been analyzing telecom revenue management for several years now. During this time, they've published several research studies on topics such as telecom billing and charging, revenue assurance, fraud, and cost management.

Dittberner categorizes "least cost routing" as a cost-management activity, putting it in the same family of functions as interconnect-bill verification and content-management assurance. Least cost routing is a rather unique cost-management function because its job is to assure revenues ahead of time, rather than to determine what went wrong in the billing process. In this sense, least cost routing is a kind of "pre-cost management" activity.

According to Dan Baker, Research Director from Dittberner, "pulse is pioneering the real-time interconnect server category. We interviewed two pulse customers who have successfully installed pulse's Intelligent Routing Platform to surmount their switch translation problems and transform their least cost routing solutions into major money-savers."

Rob Khoury, VP of Sales for pulse, states, "pulse's Intelligent Routing Platform offers a central command and control architecture for routing and allows for deep routing granularities as well as significant savings from optimized routing."

Dittberner and pulse will co-host a panel discussion at Telestrategies' Revenue Assurance and Management Conference. The panel discussion, titled 'Cost Management Solutions for a Real-Time Interconnected Telecom World' will take place March 10-11, 2009 in Miami, FL, USA.

Included on the panel are Dan Baker, Research Director, Dittberner Associates; Geoff Knoerzer, Vice President, Engel Consulting Group and Rob Khoury, Vice President Sales, pulse. Drawing on Dittberner Associates' RA market research, the panel will discuss trends and the latest techniques in least cost routing, electronic conversion, rate verification, and software/managed services.
