Diverse Companies Retain VisionEdge Marketing to Improve Marketing Performance Management

AUSTIN, TX -- (MARKET WIRE) -- November 29, 2005 -- Two innovative corporations headquartered at opposite sides of the continent and serving two very different industries have leveraged the marketing performance management expertise of VisionEdge Marketing (VEM) to improve the strategic value and accountability of their marketing functions.

Bax Global of Irvine, California, and Barber Foods of Portland, Maine, both hired VisionEdge Marketing to: evaluate their current marketing plans, advise how to better align the marketing function with business goals, establish a set of metrics by which the performance of the marketing function can be measured, and recommend graphical dashboards by which the marketing department can report its contribution to top management.

"The chief marketing officers at Bax Global and Barber Foods are determined to push the strategic value of their departments to the next level," said Laura Patterson, President of VisionEdge Marketing. "Showing top management how marketing programs drive the business forward is paramount to the long-term viability of marketing in any organization."

At Bax Global the company previously had established a set of metrics for measuring the performance of its marketing programs, but it was interested in having an objective assessment made of the company's marketing plan, metrics used for measurement, and the dashboard used for tracking and reporting.

"The guidance, methodologies and tools VEM provided us during the engagement fundamentally changed our focus away from measuring tactics," said Jerry Levy, VP Worldwide Marketing for Bax Global. "Now our plans and dashboards show how we're contributing to primary business objectives."

For Barber Foods their primary reason for working with VEM was to determine what, how, and when to measure marketing initiatives and to assess the effectiveness of marketing in building brand equity and sales.

"VEM worked with us through several iterations of our planning process. They were instrumental in helping us define the appropriate role for marketing within our company, and what metrics we can use to measure our performance," said Mark Dvorozniak, VP Marketing for Barber Foods.
