Diversified Trust Names Mark Bell Managing Principal of Atlanta Office

ATLANTA, GA--(Marketwired - Jun 30, 2016) - Diversified Trust, an independent comprehensive wealth management firm with over $5 billion in client assets, recently promoted Mark Bell to managing principal of the company's Atlanta office, where he will lead strategic business development and client services. As part of the management changes, Jeff Howard has been named the chief operating officer for the Atlanta office.

Bell has extensive experience in alternative investments. Prior to joining Diversified Trust, he served as chief investment officer for BlueArc Capital Management, an alternative asset manager focused on family offices, where he remains a director. Bell began his career with McKinsey & Co. and subsequently was Director of Strategy at D.E. Shaw & Co, where he helped develop the organization's private equity investment strategy and launched the firm's reinsurance business. He later served as the executive vice chairman of the Brand Banking Company where he led a $200 million recapitalization of the bank.

Bell serves as an adjunct professor of finance and a senior research fellow at the Center for Alternative Investments at the Goizueta Business School of Emory University. He also serves on the Board of Visitors at Emory University, the Carter Center Board of Councilors, the Board of Directors of MAP International, the Atlanta Ballet Advisory Board, the Christian Mission Committee of the Westminster Schools, the U.S. Marshall Scholars' Southeast Regional Selection Committee, and the Board of the Bodleian Library of The University of Oxford.

Howard has been a key contributor in the ongoing development of Diversified Trust's portfolio management practices. He received his Bachelor of Science in Management from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Master of Science in Personal Financial Planning from Georgia State University. He holds the CFP® certification awarded by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. Jeff is a CFA charterholder and a member of the Atlanta Society of Finance and Investment Professionals. In addition to his responsibilities as Chief Operating Officer of the Atlanta Office, Jeff will continue his close work with clients.
